Dr. Stephanie Helinger, DVM

Dr. Stephanie Helinger is originally from St. Petersburg, FL, and has a comprehensive background in animal science and equine care. She earned her B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Florida in 2010, followed by an M.S. in Equine Nutrition and Exercise Physiology in 2011. After completing grad school, Dr. Helinger went to work for PHD Veterinary Services, traveling all over the state of Florida assisting in all aspects of equine veterinary care.

In 2016, Dr. Helinger transitioned to a role in sales and advertising, but soon realized her true passion remained in veterinary medicine. She returned to school and earned her DVM from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023, and then completed a one-year rotating internship at Ocala Equine Hospital shortly following her graduation.

Horses have always been Dr. Helinger’s passion. She grew up training and competing in three-day eventing and dressage, and can still be found at the barn most nights caring for her equine partner of 21 years, Lola. Her professional interests include lameness, sports medicine and rehabilitation, podiatry, endocrinology, and preventative medicine.
